Corporate Social Responsibility

The global benchmark for assessing CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), EcoVadis, has ranked Road Transport in the “Gold” category for the very first time based on its policies concerning the environment, human rights, ethics and responsible purchasing.

Road Transport is now part of the top 5% of the most exemplary companies operating in our sector worldwide in terms of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). The annual assessment conducted by EcoVadis, which has just been published, resulted in score of 64/100 for Road Transport – up four points from 2018. “This result means that we are now ranked in the ‘Gold’ category for the very first time, and confirms the proactive policy we have pursued for several years,” says Coralie Guglielmetti, QHSE Director at Road Transport: “We have made progress in both our achievements, with operations such as Safety Days conducted with our customers, and in our ability to promote this work”.

Dynamics to pursue

The assessment is based on a declarative component – the company responds to a questionnaire and provides evidence – which is supplemented by active monitoring by the auditors, especially on social networks, in order to measure our efforts in the four areas assessed: environment, human rights, ethics and responsible purchasing. With this conclusive result, Road Transport sends a strong message to the market. And the company does not intend to stop there: “Even though the requirements of the assessment are tougher each year, we have the ambition – and margins of progress – to further improve our score in 2020,” says Coralie Guglielmetti. With this in mind, Road Transport also benefits from the strong dynamics instilled by GEODIS in terms of CSR, whose exemplary efforts received a score of 72/100 this year.
