Having completed a stimulating, diverse training programme that took them to several Road Transport entities, the nine junior profiles recruited last summer within the young talents programme are highly positive about their experience. One of them, Aline Breuillot, tells us more.

What is a young talents programme, exactly?

“It’s an ambitious and innovative recruitment process that Road Transport has just inaugurated, and I was one of the nine lucky young people to be chosen! With a view to filling future managerial positions, Road Transport’s human resources team sought out candidates who had recently graduated with degrees in the road transport field and/or gained some initial experience in the sector.

I discovered the world of transport during the last year of my Master’s in purchasing on a work/study programme at Strasbourg school of management. I took to it straight away! When I heard about the Road Transport young talents programme, I just knew I had to apply! In addition to my interest for the transport field, the prospect of taking ten months’ training in a market-leading company’s business lines and processes sounded like a very rewarding way to begin my career!

What did your ten months’ training consist of?

I started with four months in immersion at the Strasbourg site, where I gained my first experience of operational management, which involved being in contact with the drivers. I really enjoyed that. I was lucky to work alongside the site manager, who noticed how much I like interacting with people and put me in situations calling on my interpersonal skills whenever she could.

Next, I followed a complete programme at the head office in Méry, where I was able to get to grips with all of Road Transport’s functional departments (purchasing, design office, sales, etc.). I even got to visit the operations centre in Compiègne! After that I switched between periods in the field in Strasbourg and lots of other interesting experiences!

This programme is designed in a way that quickly makes us more autonomous and agile. We are not there just to observe; we have real roles to play in real projects. Experiencing all this at the age of just 24 is highly rewarding! I’m really taken with this profession and the Road Transport approach, so I’m hoping to go on a long journey with this company!”
